What is gratitude?
Gratitude is one of the most underrated virtues of life. It is a feeling that helps you appreciate what you have and what you are, while at the same time giving you a sense of humility.
The best way to find gratitude in your life is to start by being grateful for the things that are happening right now, not just what has happened or will happen. You can do this by counting your blessings every day and focusing on the good things in your life.
Gratitude can be found anywhere, even in small moments like taking a walk with your dog or sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee.
The Science Behind The Positive Effects of Gratitude
Gratitude is a powerful emotion that has been studied for centuries. Recent studies have shown that gratitude can improve our mental and physical health.
The positive effects of gratitude can be seen by how it increases the production of serotonin and dopamine, which are neurotransmitters that help regulate mood and happiness. It also helps to reduce stress and anxiety, improves sleep quality, reduces inflammation, boosts immunity, and more.
Gratitude can be expressed in many ways; from keeping a gratitude journal to practicing mindful meditation to writing thank you cards. All of these practices have been shown to provide significant benefits like increased happiness levels and lowered blood pressure.

There are many ways to practice gratitude daily, but the most important thing is to find what works for you.

Why Building a Daily Practice Around Gratitude Will Give You An Unfair Advantage In Life
Gratitude is a powerful force that can transform your life. It will give you an unfair advantage in life by teaching you to appreciate what you have + reminding you how much you already have to be grateful for that often gets taken for granted.
The secret to feeling grateful is recognizing the good things in your life and being thankful for them. This will help you develop a more positive outlook on life and will make it easier to recognize the good things when they show up.
You can be grateful for things, but so much more… services, food + drink, health, friends, family, situations, opportunities. The Law of Attraction says ‘like attracts like’, the more you put your attention on feeling grateful, the more things you can attract, to be grateful for.
From my own experience, I know my life shifted into much more joy when I walked around every day, feeling grateful to be alive + and for anything and everything that crossed my path. I used to walk around NYC trying to find at least one thing to mentally compliment about every person I saw – that can be challenging + keeps your mind very occupied on seeing only the good! Sometimes I was even inspired to share my compliments out loud + make someone’s day.
I’ve gone from that level of gratitude + appreciation to setting aside my Daily Gratitude Journaling practice and being very inconsistent in my day-to-day life. I’m still grateful for so much, of course, but without focus + attention on maintaining my gratitude practice, more doubt, fear + worry has crept into my mind + day.
I’m ready for a gratitude adjustment!
I’d like to invite you to join us for 28 days of Gratitude + let’s build a practice together, guided by the principles in the book “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne.
